Where We've Been

We have operated the Montreal.com website since its inception, and with the advent of powerful, open sourced CMS software are seeking to expand the site into the field of community service information.  This is a type of Internet provision that the Montreal area needs.

In the beginning the Montreal.com domain was a part of the Communications Vir ISP.  Communcations Vir operated for about 4 years from 1994 to 1997, the last 2 years as a part of the Hookup Communications national ISP.

In 1998 some personnel from the ISP reformed and began to publish Montreal.com on the Web as its own website, with a cultural orientation focused on the Montreal area.

It has been a very long road, and we've managed to maintain our autonomy in the quickly changing world of the Internet where sites come and go, merge and split, changing beyond recognition from one day to the next.

What we want to do now is something there was no easily available technology for when we started this site in the late 1990's. Things have changed and we begin our journey anew, with the same basic approach, but a whole new set of tools the capability of which actually matches what our goals have always been:

Identity, Community, Nobility.

We are more than clay, more than numbers in the economy. We live in this world and each of us makes a piece of it our own. We have a yesterday, a today, and most importantly, we have tomorrow.

This is what Montreal.com has always been about, and now with your participation we shall all try to express it.
