- Despite citizen protests, mayors of suburbs off Montreal's northeastern corner are looking with favour on the prospect of the enlargement of the massive garbage dump in Lachenaie. Half of Montreal's garbage currently ends up there.
- Some snowfall statistics – and with more serious snow in the forecast for tomorrow night. Anyone travelling around town will have seen the giant snowpiles growing in every parking lot and unclaimed space: even Jean-Talon market has a two-storey monster in one corner. Inevitably people are attracted to slide on these piles, a tendency deprecated by the authorities. Meanwhile, there are anti-icing techniques most of the city isn't using, but many boroughs have used up snow budgets that were meant to cover next November and December as well.
